Latest news: How do you like my new wordpress site? Check it out here: http://mipagan.wordpress.com/
Hi I'm KayLee. Currently taking a class through Cherry Hill Seminary called "How to Effectively Design Web Sites for Pagan Organizations". I'm new to all the options, but learning. There are a lot of things I like about the new Michigan Pagans website. I'm looking forward to seeing which areas will be used the most.
I have my own preferences, of course. I like a "simple" site, with upcoming events staring at me right from the start, so I don't miss anything. Even if I can't attend all the events, I don't want to miss out on anything. Just wondering what other people like in a website, and why.
I never thought I liked a million options for two-way communication, but I can see why people do. "Chat" works great, because if you see someone you know online, and you want to get in touch with them, you can immediately. My "problem" is that I'm already on Facebook. I have a ton of "places" to go online, and I don't even consider myself a techie. There's private mail, the forums (which I like because it's easy to see the topics and go into discussions of specific things).
I have some questions: Can a website have too many places to communicate? Being alone in a chat room, or never getting a response in a forum or something like that might be no good. So I guess that's why I'm looking forward to seeing if there are "busy" areas in Michigan Pagans and "quiet" areas. Just wondering what people are liking the most, if they are looking for F2F events, chatting online, more general info re Paganism.
